Tragic images have emerged tonight showing the remains of a whale watching vessel which sank off the coast of British Columbia, leaving at least five dead and another 18 needing hospital treatment. The 65ft Leviathan II, run by Jamie's Whaling Station, based in Tofino, was carrying 27 people when it put out a mayday call at 5pm despite locals reporting clear, calm conditions. Dozens of vessels rushed to help, ferrying people back to shore. Rescue boats are still scouring the waters around Vancouver Island tonight as a number of passengers remain unaccounted for.
